Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a California Car Crash

Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful franchise Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in California he was 55 years old.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The influential industry figure lost his life when his car crashed and caught fire on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and all those touched by his work," an official with Electronic Arts said.
