Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the shocking demises of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.

A Discovery

As detailed in an account quoting a confidential source, a massage therapist arriving for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the residence. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

Upon entering the residence, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had gone with her contacted 911. Subsequently, first responders discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently detained and denied bail.

Disputed Reports

The confidential informant also disputed several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

According to law enforcement sources, the coroner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some media reports indicated the state of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, some 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
