Nearly four and a half months after Russell Martin's initial media briefing as Rangers manager, successor Danny Rohl met with reporters at Rangers' stadium for the first time.

The scale of the challenge ahead of him is widely recognized, given Martin's chaotic and unsuccessful four-month tenure.

The former Sheffield Wednesday manager was joined by club chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the much-criticized duo of football director Kevin Thelwell and chief executive Patrick Stewart.

However, what precisely did we learn from the young coach's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

Rohl's Primary Focus - Winning is Everything

One thing emerged loud and clear from the new coach's first appearance before the Scottish media - he recognizes the need to secure victories, and do so rapidly.

His predecessor Russell Martin managed just 17 matches and 123 days as manager, so the inquiry emerged about how long the new man believes is realistic to turn around the struggling squad.

While skillfully sidestepping a direct answer that could bring future pressure, Rohl's communication was very evident.

"With hope as soon as possible," he stated. "This is crucial.
"In football you have not much time. You can discuss long-term vision but it's understood it concerns immediate results and the short-term involves winning games. That is what I demand.
"Another aspect remains clear - I need all players to comprehend how we want to perform. I return to my main message: victory comes first, it's attractive and it's together. By following this order, I believe that I'll stay very long at the club."

Pressure is Normal

The previous manager needed security protection to leave the stadium after his final game in charge.

We've seen how hostile environments can turn at football clubs when results decline. Protests have almost become a regular aspect of game day experience on each part of the city these days.

As the club's most youthful ever head coach, the question asked about which attributes the coach thinks he possesses that would enable him to handle, let alone excel, in among the most pressurized roles in UK soccer?

"I think pressure in this business are standard," he stated. "One needs to understand that very quickly.
"I think certain individuals might mention my youth but I'm 16 years on this path. I experienced an excellent opportunity to be at Bayern Munich and be just the assistant manager, but I experienced what it means to manage a team and the pressure involved.
"You begin winning games and then some critics will say you must produce entertaining football. That's the next stage but precisely what I want. I relish those expectations and I look forward about the future."

Thelwell Defends Striker Acquisition & Hiring Family Member

There were plenty of questions from the media for Thelwell.

Much discussion has focused on the appointment of his son as head of recruitment, with fans skeptical about his qualifications for the position.

Nevertheless, he defended and explained the decision to recruit Thelwell Jnr to the club.

"It's always awkward to hear and in appearance I believe everyone understood when we took this step to appoint Robbie that he'd be seen negatively," Thelwell said.
"The reality of circumstances is that we aim to attract the very best talent to this club.
"My view on Robbie's career and situation is he required no family help in football.
"He's worked at Villa as a senior scout, after which he moved to Norwich as scouting chief and then was elevated to player pathways manager.
"Prior to our recruited him, multiple top division teams sought to acquire him. What we did from the beginning of the process was consult with Patrick, the chairman and deputy chairman Marathe about this matter.
"I remained highly open and I think Robbie probably underwent a stricter process than anybody else who's employed by the team.
"I'm certain is that he will work constantly to achieve success for Rangers and I'm looking forward to him demonstrating that he's going to be a valuable staff member for the club."

Thelwell also supported the signing of striker Youssef Chermiti, who arrived at the club for a reported first payment of eight million pounds, after failing to score in 24 games for his previous club.

It was Thelwell who transferred the Portuguese young international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - again for large funds in a fifteen million pound deal.

He was asked if he stands by his expensive purchase, who is yet to register in seven outings for Rangers.

"Yes, completely," Thelwell responded. "I think Youssef Chermiti is a player who's got great ability.
"I haven't doubted him whatsoever. Similarly, I believe Danny will help to get the best out of Youssef.
"It's very initial stages for him, he's a young talent and of course with young talents they occasionally require patience.
"However, I'm convinced throughout of his career here he'll demonstrate that he's a highly capable player."

The CEO Acknowledges Supporters' Disappointment and Anger

Stewart was also facing scrutiny, considering the criticism that has been directed his way by certain of the club's fans.

Additionally, there was a banner in the stadium during the recent tie with Dundee United suggesting him - and Thelwell - to depart before they were packed for him.

Like his sporting director, the CEO did not avoid the issue.

"I completely understand the disappointment and hurt that fans are experiencing because performances recently haven't met good enough and no one is happy with those," he said.
"The pain and frustration they feel is mirrored within the boardroom.
"Also understand that there must exist an outlet for that dissatisfaction and as chief executive, that's me.
"I'm a lightning rod for such issues and my responsibility as a
