Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.
In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be quite tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or the home side responding?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.
A family member told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be quite tight. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.
They have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.
But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
