Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
